What Pino is
Pino is an offline maps and navigation app in the most literal sense: the map, the search index and the routing engine all live on your device. Internet is used exactly once per region — to download it. After that, Pino works in airplane mode, abroad without roaming, on a trail with no coverage, or on a watch with no phone in sight.
Why offline-first
Navigation matters most precisely where connectivity is worst: mountains, remote roads, foreign cities, underground garages. An app that assumes a connection fails you at the exact moment you need it. Pino inverts that assumption — everything essential works offline, and connectivity only ever adds convenience (downloads and updates).
The Wear OS difference
Pino treats the watch as a first-class, standalone device. Maps are stored on the watch, and search, route calculation and turn-by-turn navigation run on the watch itself — not relayed from a phone.
