To use offline maps on Android with Pino: install the app, download the map region you need while you still have a connection, and from then on search, routing and turn-by-turn navigation work entirely offline.

Step by step

  1. Install Pino for Android. See the Android page for requirements and the store link.
  2. Open the map downloads screen and pick the country or region you plan to visit.
  3. Check the size before downloading. Pino shows the exact download size for each region before you commit, so you can decide whether to use Wi-Fi.
  4. Download the region. It is stored locally on your device.
  5. Go offline whenever you like. Airplane mode, no SIM, no roaming — map display, place search, route calculation and navigation keep working.

What works offline on Android

With a downloaded region, Pino for Android supports:

  • Browsing the map at all zoom levels.
  • Searching places, streets and addresses within downloaded regions.
  • Calculating routes on the device.
  • Turn-by-turn navigation with GPS, which works without internet.
